ABOUT US +

Jay is what some would call a “simple man”. Growing up in Alabama, Jay first caught a bug for business ownership and design being raised in his grandparent’s general store near the railroad tracks in Irondale, Alabama. With antique Gulf Oil signs and a simple way of living, Jay was intrigued by those clean designs and personable service that left a breathable feeling and a satisfied customer.

Since 2013, he has developed and sharpened brands across the Southeast in many industries, from mission based products to sporting lodges and the like, using God given talents and creative resources such as marketing, e-commerce, and graphic design to enrich commerce in both the physical and digital marketplace.

In the Fall of 2019, by the inspiration of that old general store by the railroad tracks, Jay and his family finally took the leap to create their own brand, Tennessee Peanut Company, which went into national distribution by 2021. The project continues to be a showcase of Cleveland Brands design and e-commerce potential, having paved the way for other similar brands to make the leap as a result of being inspired.

When not behind the screen, Jay loves being a family man to his wife Jessie, son, 7 year old Emerson, 3 year old Byrdie Lou, and newest addition, Ellie Joy. They love to hike, play bluegrass, ride bicycles, play at the beach, lounge around watching Andy Griffith, and attend Judson Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee.
